The “Ricetto di Ghemme” Castle”
is a proper fortified village having a total surface area of 12.000 sqm, it has rectangular shape and buildings have been erected following an herring-bone pattern, this Castle is one of the best preserved in Piedmont. The cobbled paving recently renovated along with the right street lighting are able to re-create in the ancient castle the atmosphere of the past centuries.

The Parish Church of Ghemme
dedicated to the Assumption, was built over an ancient Pieve church from 1666. The Scurolo for the Blessed Panacea was designed by v that was born and lived in Ghemme.

NOVARA (Distance from Farm Holidays 25 km)
The Novara castle
is commonly defined Visconteo-Sforzesco to identify its dating to 14th-15th century. Actually its story is at least 2000 years old and there are also some rumours about Celtic trace in that area.
Until 1970 it was used as a prison, today, after a good restoring work, the castle is an exhibition centre open to the public.

The San Gaudenzio Church
was built in the highest point of the city between 1577 and 1690, following the destruction of the old church located out of the city walls. The most significant architectural element of the church is the imposing dome, 122 m high designed by the architect-engineer Alessandro Antonelli, the real city emblem.

VARALLO SESIA (Distance from Farm Holidays: 33km)
Sacro Monte Sacro Monte was realised, at the end of the 15th century, at the wish of the Blessed Bernardino Caimi, that coming from Holy Land wanted to reproduce on a smaller scale the holy sites of Palestine.
The building complex, around 50 buildings, has been erected in about two centuries. Each chapel represents, by frescoes (around 4.000 figures) and statues (around 400) Gesù and Maria scenes of life.

ORTA (Distance from Farm Holidays: 33km)
Orta city centre, today pedestrian precinct, is personalized with narrow and colourful streets : the main one is parallel the lake and intersect some steep narrow streets going off the lake and taking to the Sacro Monte. The only island of Lake Orta, Orta San Giulio Island, is part of the of the Municipality of Orta San Giulio, on the island a Benedictine monastery is present since 1973.

MAGGIORE LAKE, STRESA, BORROMEO ISLANDS (Distance from Farm Holidays: 45km)
Stresa, known for its Musical weeks, cheering since 1961 the best music lovers, is the main destination for a visit of the Lake Maggiore Islands. In the 14th century “The Borromeo”, powerful feudatory of the area coming from Florence and bounded to the prestigious Medici family, became owners of the islands and started their transformation.

L’ Isola Madre but mainly l’ Isola Bella are chosen by the tourist loving the two magnificent Borromeo Palace with their gardens, famous all around Europe for the landscape and the attention to the various vegetable architectures, made by over 2000 varieties of different species. On Isola Madre you can find a big number of oriental birds, like white peacock, golden pheasants and parrots, free flying in the wonderful garden. L’ Isola dei Pescatori instead, is the only one inhabited at present. In Stresa you can also visit the splendid fauna and flora Park “Villa Pallavicino”.

SAFARI PARK – VARALLO POMBIA (Distance from Farm Holidays: 25km)
his amusement park offers a beautiful Car zoological Safari between Savannah animals and the following pavilions : Aquarium, reptile house, butterflies and coleopter exhibition, Insectarium, Jurassic Park, teaching programme : “ The wood life”, visit on foot to Hyenas, new playing areas for children, botanic oasis, roundabouts and attractions for adults and children, shows and live activities, flying falcons and parrots displays.

ONDALAND - VICOLUNGO (Distance from Farm Holidays: 17km)
Ondaland is the biggest water park of Piedmont, which opened in 2005, covers an area surface of around 150.000 square meters. The complex offers a range of water attractions for all tastes, including a large swimming pool for more than 2.000 sqm where, every 30 minutes, get up waves of up to one meter !
